Summary:

The Operations Manager (OM) plays a critical role in driving productivity, quality, and safety in field operations. The OM is a key member of the division leadership team. OM reports to the construction division president and superintendents report to the OM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train and strictly enforce all operational safety procedures and policies
  • Planning, scheduling and administering a number of jobs for a significant multi-million-dollar division budget
  • Ensure that all site development jobs are completed according to plans, are within budget and according to deadlines
  • Collaborate with Division Leader to set yearly goals and Divisional Budgets.
  • Develop and track to a monthly divisional Profit and Loss Statement (P&L.)
  • Delivering timely and accurate reports, financials, schedules and budgets.
  • Participate in Job Start meetings to set field budgets independent of estimating, recognize opportunities and concerns at the job level, discuss/strategize how to capitalize on them, and continually challenge existing jobs for improvement.
  • Use the divisional budgets established from the 3-Month Look-aheads, to schedule and address required staffing needs. Ability to anticipate and reconcile revenue spread with hiring requirements
  • Representing the Company effectively, interfacing and building relationships with owners, clients, architects, general contractors and subcontractors
  • Delivering timely and accurate reports, financials, schedules and budgets.

Position Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate would have 8 years of progressive levels of responsibility and management within the Landscape Construction field and/or a BA in Business Admin, Construction management, or Landscape Architecture with 4 years of high-level management experience.
  • An open and candid communicator with strong leadership abilities and a high level of credibility based on performance within the field.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Has the ability to problem solve and resolve conflict through sound decision making in a fast-paced field – environment.
  • Has the ability to remain constantly informed to the current best management practices and understands the systems and programs that will be necessary to remain best in class in the future
  • Has the highest level of ethics and integrity and has a record of performance that demonstrates vision, innovation and creativity.
  • A background in strategic development or implementation of new organizational processes is highly desirable.
  • Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Customer service experienceBi-lingual preferred (Spanish/English)
