This Business Developer will work with one of the best teams in the industry!

  • The Construction Business Developer is a mid-level sales management position, responsible for developing and pursuing new accounts, and producing accurate and timely bid estimates in the Las Vegas market. Primary focus is on estimates for landscaping construction contracts, including irrigation, lighting, hardscape & commercial landscape projects.The BD negotiates pricing and performs site assessments; makes decisions on how to adjust price based upon circumstances of the project.

ESSENTIALS

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: 

The ideal candidate preferably holds a Bachelor’s degree or has equivalent experience in the fields of horticulture, landscape architecture, construction management, sales & marketing, business or a similar course of study and 2-4 years experience of actively developing, pursuing and selling new accounts and producing accurate and timely bid estimates for large landscape projects.

Additionally, the Business Developer will be expected to have basic knowledge in the areas of irrigation systems, hardscape, erosion control, and plant identification for the Central California region. The Business Developer should be well versed in Excel, Word, PowerPoint/Keynote and Firefox/Safari search engines. Advanced proficiency in Mac OS and MAC adapted software preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The following are the primary roles and responsibilities performed by the Business Developer:

  • Adhere to and promote Company doctrine, values and mission statement.
  • Submit accurate Company bids in a timely and effective manner to meet the deadlines of requesting party.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of contractual legal language.
  • Perform all aspects of bidding process, including: measuring properties for field estimates, reviewing invitations to bid, pre-site inspections, drawing plans for irrigation and landscaping or maintenance services, preparing estimates.
  • Accurately records and meets the budgeted estimating man-hours required to generate an estimate on all assigned jobs. Communicates within department as appropriate.
  • Review contracts, write up new job information, gather plans for landscaping and irrigation projects.
  • Frequent customer contact to discuss project and make changes/corrections as needed.
  • Communicate to appropriate parties any problem areas and work to find immediate resolution.
  • Analyze awarded bids for estimating accuracy.
  • Represent the Company at various events, organizations and associations for the purpose of building relationships to generate new business.
  • Act as a Company representative and develop community ties to enhance the public image and brand of the Company.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with other companies in the industry and related industries.
